She thinks of the forest,
She has never seen a forest,
EXCEPT FOR IN DREAMS,
And those dreams,
Or those times,
When she’s dancing,
And remembering,
Those dreams,
(Of the forest she’s never seen)
Are the happiest part of her existence,
Otherwise,
She is caged,
Like an animal.
And those behind the cross-linked wire,
Howl and bray,
Like animals,
As her body gyrates,
The forest is all she sees.
